We include a free domain name with all our web design packages. Use the domain search today and find out if your desired domain name is available. Unlike some companies we do not charge for the transfer existing domain names this includes transfering to a new ISP.

Buying your domain name is the first critical step in securing the future evolution of your company or brand. Wherever possible, babtech.co.uk recommends keeping your domain name as short and sharp as possible, to maximise the chance of it being easily remembered and passed on through viral marketing. If your exact company or brand name has already been registered, you can use hyphens to separate words or phrases.

Also, when users search the Internet for a particular product or service, they often use those product or service names as keywords. To ensure that these potential customers find your site first, you can register extra domain names relating to your business's core services or products. For example, if you operate a florist shop, you may consider flowers.com or gifts.co.uk. We will direct all traffic to your web site from the additional domain name.

We also offers a wide range of extensions for your chosen domain name. The following is intended as a guide to help you choose those right for you.

UK registrations:
.co.uk for companies and general use.
.org.uk usually for organisations and non profit making companies, although can be registered by anyone.
.net.uk for Internet Service Providers (ISP's) only. The rules for .net.uk are very strict, and the governing body for UK domain names will only allow ISP's to register these domains.
me.uk for personal use. Domain Name registrations made under me.uk are expected to be made for natural persons, such as Mr Fred Bloggs registering fredbloggs.me.uk. However, it is possible to register any group of words under the me.uk extension, and it is not compulsory to register your legal name. Many people may want to register their nickname.
.ltd.uk for UK limited companies only. Registration demands company registration number.
.plc.uk for UK PLC's only.

Global Registrations:
.com for companies and general use.
.net usually for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The international rules are more relaxed than in the UK, so anyone can register a .net domain.
.org usually for organisations and non-profit making companies. Once again anyone can register a .org domain.
.biz - to be used for commercial sites

Domain names cannot contain spaces or other punctuation, they should contain letters, numbers or hyphens (-) only.
Domain names cannot be just 2 letters (e.g. bc.co.uk is not permitted), only .com, .net and .org domain names are allowed to contain 2 letters.
Domain names must not begin or end with a dash.
Names cannot have more than 60 characters, this includes the the characters used to identify the top-level domain (.com, .co.uk etc.).
